Familiarize Yourself with the Fundamentals of Tendering Process

Most small and medium-sized enterprises look for private and government sector contracts to expand their ongoing operations and increase revenue. Tendering is basically a process of expressing interest in response to a request for tender. The organization who floats tenders seeks a response from other businesses to address a particular need, such as accomplishment of different projects in a distinct domain like construction, electrical, etc. The company will later select the offer that best meets its needs and provides value for money.

How do you bid for a tender?

Once the Bihar Tenders are issued, the interested companies will then prepare an application to bid for it. The documents provided along with the application will outline the offer and includes pricing, schedules as well as their eligibility for the project. Also, the bidding company needs to highlight its experience, competencies and qualifications required for the project. The submitted tenders are later evaluated on the basis of the defined criteria.

A lucrative tender provides small businesses the first step towards sustainability. Also, it could be a valuable reference and may help businesses secure contracts both in the private sector and overseas. The experience gained in the process will turn out to be a strong selling point and provides a reliable source of business.

But before getting involved in any of the Bihar Tenders, it is important to understand the business suitability for the project. Prior to bidding, the company must have a fair picture of whether it will be able to manage and complete the contract in case it wins. Understanding these points, offering a competitive bid and demonstrating that you are capable of meeting the criteria are some of the aspects that will increase your chances of success.

New Projects in Bihar and The Process of Submitting Tenders

Despite the fact that Bihar is counted among the most backward states in India, it has made rapid strides towards economic development and progress in recent years. The government has launched several infrastructure and power projects to improve the standard of living of the people. While the work on some of these projects has already started, many others are slated to be launched soon.

New Projects in Bihar:

  • Gayatri Projects Ltd., A Hyderabad-based construction company, has recently secured a highway project in Bihar worth Rs. 926 crores. The project will involve four-laning of Gaya-Hisua-Rajgir-Nalanda-Biharsharif section of NH-82 in Bihar. It will be funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
  • The government has recently approved the construction of a 22 km long road between Sahibganj (Jharkhand) and Manihari (Bihar). This road link will not just reduce the travel time between Jharkhand and Bihar but will improve the connectivity with north-eastern states. Under this project, a bridge will also be built over the Ganga River.
  • A 2539 km long gas pipeline project from Jagdishpur in Uttar Pradesh to Haldia in West Bengal is another major project that will be executed by GAIL. A major part of this pipeline will pass through Bihar. It’s a 13,000 crore pipeline project that will be completed by 2020.

Apart from the above-mentioned major projects, there are many other projects that have been announced by the government recently. The completion of these projects in the coming years is expected to have a positive impact on the economy of the state of Bihar.

As is the case in other parts of India, the tendering process is an integral part of all major projects in Bihar. To complete these projects successfully, the government and private companies need raw materials and several other types of equipment. They release tenders to select the best suppliers of raw materials and other equipment.

Tendering Process in Bihar:

Bihar tenders provide excellent business opportunities to suppliers and small businesses. The companies have to place bids for tenders. The company with the most competitive bid and a proven track record stands a better chance to win the tender.

The process of tendering in Bihar starts with identifying the right tenders. The suppliers have to submit their bids within the specified time after the tender is released. Therefore, it is important for suppliers to keep a track of the upcoming tenders. This will ensure that they don’t miss out on a profitable business opportunity.

However, for most suppliers, collecting Bihar tenders information from different sources can be a difficult and time-consuming task. This is where the tender information websites can prove to be very useful. These websites provide all tender-related information including the last date for submitting bids and tender value.

With several upcoming projects, Bihar offers excellent opportunities to businesses to make profitable investments. Infrastructure, power, construction, IT, Telecom, Safety & Security and Medical Equipment are some of the major sectors that offer numerous business opportunities.
